The Security Questions to Ask Before You Sign With Any Provider

Security posture is a procurement decision as much as a technical one. These questions surface the gaps a datasheet will not.
Datasheets describe capability, not commitment
A provider can support encryption, logging and MFA and still deliver none of it on your tenant by default. The question is never whether a feature exists — it is whether it is enabled, monitored and contractually guaranteed for you.
Incident response is the real test
Ask for the notification window in hours, in writing. Ask who calls whom at 2am. Ask for a redacted example of a past incident report. Providers with mature processes answer immediately; the rest deflect.
Match controls to actual risk
Over-buying security is as common as under-buying it. We start from a risk assessment across network, endpoint, identity and email, then size the spend to the exposure that matters for your industry.
